Trail runners share the beautiful trails, forests, and rivers with lots of wildlife. More accurately, they are sharing the trails with the runners. If you are going to run some trails you will encounter animals, reptiles, and insects. Trail runners should be prepared and know what to do when crossing paths with these different creatures. In episode 21 of the Sugarstride Podcast I sit down with Terry Robison, the Director of Natural Resources for Cleveland Metroparks, to discuss just that. Terry shares tips on coyote, snake, and owl encounters that will help keep runners and the animals safe. Talking to Terry it is obvious he truly loves the outdoors and the animals within it. I know you will enjoy listening to this conversation as much as I enjoyed recording it. If you are in Northeastern Ohio I urge you to visit the many miles of trails within the Cleveland Metroparks.
