May this new year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements, and a lot of new.
Today we talk about our minds. The mind can be an enemy if not train properly or can be a best friend when train properly. Monkey mind or mind monkey, from Chinese xinyuan and Sino-Japanese shin'en 心猿 [lit. "heart-/mind-monkey"], is a Buddhist term meaning "unsettled; restless; capricious; whimsical; fanciful; inconstant; confused; indecisive; uncontrollable.
You see, my friend, the best way to explain our mind's relationship is like a parent and child relationship. This relationship is base on love.
When the child does not obey, we apply pressure or show authority; we listen, reason, talk, and convince. With excessive force and pressure, the child may obey us, but our relationship with our kid is gone. The intention of being understanding, loving, and compassionate is to destroy.
That is why we need to be aware and mindful and be present in each moment. That is why we do our meditation to train our minds.
