When Michele Iadarola moved to new york he saw lots of food products from other parts of Italy, but very little from his native Puglia. Known as the "bread basket" of Italy, Puglia occupies what we think of as the heel of the boot. His longing to have and to celebrate the foods of his childhood led to the creation of Especually Puglia in 2014 with his first Adopt an Olive Tree campaign. He figured that if Americans were willing to adopt a tree they'd get oil for the whole year in return. Kind of a trans-Atlantic CSA of sorts. He's expanded that in the last 5 years to an adopt a hive program for honey and an adopt a cow program for Caciacavallo cheese as well as importing and distributing pasta and other jarred goods. Harry and Michele sat down at Ends Meat in Industry city for a LIVE Feast Yr Ears.
