Estimates from 200,000 to 400,000 deaths a year occur due to mistakes. Even more shocking is that the number of people seriously harmed that do not die may be 10-20 times higher! A brand new report suggests that number may have dropped to 161,000 deaths in the USA but still a gross and distressing number. If you can, stay out of hospitals. If you are in the hospital, have family members stay with you, even if overnight.
