I Am… Hannin Stevenson…

In this week’s show Jen & Hannin chat about life, growing up in one of the more deprived areas of Glasgow, being different (or unique), fat shaming, loving yourself, the law of attraction, being happy to be who you are and how you have turned out, cosmetic surgery, saying yes to yourself and no to others, finding the elusive balance and how cathartic writing is…

I’m Hannin, I’m an award nominated wedding planner and entrepreneur. I’m in my early 30’s and I’m just trying to navigate life in a happy healthy way. Let’s face it, it can be a struggle, not least of all because of my weight, mental health, trying to juggle a social life with work, while constantly cancelling plans with my friends, oh and working to keep a long distance relationship fresh, yanno the constant seaerch for the elusive and maybe non existant ‘balance’.

I adore my job it motivates and challenges me in so many ways. I always work hard and give my clients my all. I have my battles with anxiety and perfectionism this can be great for my job, but also tough personally.

I have a mild to moderate cheese addiction, you will hear more of this later. I love luxury travel, shopping, fashion and everything girly. But it can be difficult to find great pieces to wear at a size 20. Yes, this blog will partly follow my quest for MY body image happy place. I plan on getting healthy NOT thin on my way. There will be surgery! There will be big changes.

I’m looking forward to planning my own wedding and family with my partner of 13 years. My family and friends are the driving force in my life and I love them so very much!

Why call my blog ‘Such a Pretty Face’? No, I’m not some narcissistic woman with an ego the size of Texas, I chose it because for the last decade I’ve been regularly told ‘you’re a bigger girl but, you have such a pretty face’. It’s always said by well-meaning friends or acquaintances but has always had a sting in the tail. I always wanted to be more than that. More that just the proverbial ‘pretty face’ So, I decided to take that statement and reclaim it as a positive force in my life.

Looking forward to sharing my journey with you.
Enjoy!
H xoxo
