New year, new queers, new season of Jem and the Holograms!

Ok, yah, we’re a little late to the “Happy New Year” party but all good things are worth the wait. Same goes for passably-acceptable cartoons of the 1980s so here we are!

Not only do we have a new year of insane hijinx and unecessary car chases to enjoy in the Jemisphere, we also have a brand new Hologram! And a new Misfit!

Yes, say hello to “Raya,” aka “The Forgotten Hologram,” because after this special two-parter she will have almost no bearing on the plot of the show. “Jetta,” the British (Asian?) addition to the Misfits is basically the same deal.

You don’t come here for the character development anyway so who cares. Maybe we do? No, just checked, we don’t either.

But what we do care about is hilarious and arguably (nah, definitely) problematic discussions about the best-worst cartoon of all time (Jem and the Holograms, duh) and even though we may be in the wilds of Season Two, you know we’re not changing a thing on that front.
