It’s looking likely that the March 1st deadline for higher Chinese tariffs will be pushed back on the hope of progress on trade talks next month. There’s also hope that a deal will be reached to stop another US government shutdown. NAB’s Tapas Strickland suggests it would be politically damaging for the President to see it happen again.
