Episode 179: Why you have a problem with me - a podcast by Jill Ethier

from 2018-05-23T07:00

:: ::

When someone has a problem with you (one of those issues that don't totally make sense and that are a bit unfounded and hard to understand), the issue is usually never really with you.

They have an issue with them. You are triggering something in them that they are lashing out at you for. With this knowing and understanding, you can then choose how to react and respond to their emotional issue with "you".

This does not mean that you shouldn't consider what they are saying and seek your truth in it. Feedback (even when not asked for) is a good way to see where you are at and look at our own actions and make any shifts that are necessary.

But, just because they are triggered, doesn't mean you have to take it on, let it impact you or change what you are doing.

Be aware of what the impact on you should be, be aware of their internal experience and then respond accordingly.

Listen in to find out why fighting fire with fire never works.
