But despite slaying professionally (dozens of TV & Film roles and accolades like winning the "Rising Star Award" at the Essence Black Women In Hollywood event), it wasn’t always easy.

Life happens… and even though Aja was talented & tough, there were also insecurities to overcome… some were amplified as a Black woman due to beauty culture’s lack of representation.
