We bring you a double interview this week!

Simon George

Simon George hit the headlines last weekend when he won the half distance Outlaw X event at Thoresby Hall. As a previous multiple winner and podium-placer at numerous Outlaw events, this might have been seen as 'business as usual' by many observers. What most people don't know though, is that the event marked a return to racing for Simon after a year of hell. Crashing on his bike and landing heavily on his head during early summer 2018, Simon was diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome. This had a huge impact on his life, his family and his work life, and he questioned whether he'd ever be able to train again, let alone compete. His story is one of courage and perseverance, and we're really happy we can share it with you.

Michelle Vesterby

Michelle Vesterby is well known for her bubbly personality and positive attitude towards not just racing, but life too - she's the one who usually out-smiles all of her competitors during a race!

The Dane, who was 4th at Kona in 2015, found out that she was pregnant at the Ironman World Championships in 2018 and raced in Hawaii when she was 11 weeks pregnant. She gave birth to her son Markus in May 2019 and remarkably she was back racing long distance just three months later, at Ironman Copenhagen in August. Five weeks later she finished just off the podium in a shade over 9 hours at Ironman Italy.

She was on fine form when we caught up with her the following morning.

You'll hear:

*All about the training she did during her pregnancy

*The importance of listening to your body

*Why she decided to race at Ironman Copenhagen, so soon after giving birth

*How to get find extra energy when you're flagging on the run (hint. smile!)

*A lot of laughter when she explains why she's on the look out for a babysitter in Kona!
