This week we bring you a bike fit special, with Matt Bottrill - British uber time trial legend turned bike coach to triathlon superstars.

Matt has worked wonders with the bike position and speed of triathletes like Lucy Charles, Will Clarke, Susie Cheetham, Matt Hanson, and Tim Don. He also positioned Lotto Soudal cyclist Victor Campenaerts for his successful attempt on the hour record.

Ever wonder - ‘How on earth do people go so fast on the bike? Is it all down to fitness, or is there more to it?’ We talk about all the things that you can do to go faster - other than training. Clothing. Body position. Helmet choice. Head position. Hand position. Specific drills to help you hold that new bike position. As we’ll find out, all these things have a MASSIVE effect on how fast your power will let you go - much more so than most athletes realise. It'll take time to adjust to a new position- 6-8 weeks in Matt's experience. But once you get there, you're going faster simply because of your equipment choices and body position, rather than 'just' the training you're doing.
