Pick Your Pricing - a podcast by Jos Willard

Value can be a very subjective and elusive concept to pin down, particularly when YOU have to put a price on the services you offer. In its simplest sense, 'value' is the exchange of perceived benefits for perceived costs. You have spent your own time and money acquiring the skills and knowledge to be a great coach. Your client doesn't want to be a coach, so they won't be spending all of their own time training and studying to know all that you know. But they want to know a little bit, enough to improve their application to the things they are passionate about. They want to learn enough from you that they can excel in their own lives. So tell me. What's it worth? What are YOU worth?

In today's episode, I take the question 'What should I charge' and deconstruct it and its associated meaning of value, so you can properly and profitably price your services. I discuss the struggle coaches have with unhelpful conflicting messages where you don't want to sell yourself cheap while also not wanting to risk the accusation that you don't deserve to charge a premium rate. I discuss the importance of self-belief and explain why you have to value yourself and service intrinsically before expecting to monetize it for any price. I also reveal the Book Yourself Solid 12 different pricing models you can investigate to find the ideal pricing model for you.

"When someone is adamant that there's only one way to price, that tells me that they don't know what they're talking about" – Jos Willard

"The one way to price effectively and profitably is such that both the Seller AND the Buyer feel like they're getting the better end of the deal" – Jos Willard

"You need to feel that your willing to sit down and coach that client and get results in exchange for a certain amount of money. And that the amount of money that you will receive is worth it to you" – Jos Willard

"Consider the 12 different pricing models and then match your objective for your offering and for your circumstances. You match that objective to the appropriate pricing model" – Jos Willard

"The only way to put a price on ideas is to put a value on what they're going to produce" – Jos Willard quoting Cara Lumen

"If you don't value what you bring - they won't either" – Jos Willard
