Season 3, ep. 5.

Philip Keith Armstrong, interim executive director of Greenwood Rising, joins us to talk about the historic opening of this important museum. Built at the entry point of the Greenwood district at Greenwood Avenue and Archer Street, Booker T. Washington once referred to it as a "Black Wall Street." Unfortunately the success and prestige of this area is overshadowed by the tragic events of the Tulsa Race Massacre beginning May 31, 1921. The museum tells the stories of those who survived and those who were killed, and helps us all engage in conversation around reconciliation through ownership of the past.
