Most of us do not know what our one-rep max is for most lifts. Either because of the fear of the unknown or the perception towards one-rep maxes. Some say they are unnecessary and just an ego boost, while others claim that attempting one-rep maxes expose to a greater risk of injuries. Although the latter statement may bear some truths, assessing one’s one-rep max is trivial to effective program design and overall strength and fitness results.
