#Ep.5 - Many runners are not aware that with some types of injury, certain common ways of stretching can actually DELAY recovery. In this episode of Runchatlive we take a look.

Every week in clinic I see runners who have been struggling for weeks, months and maybe sometimes years with an ongoing pain/injury. In many of these cases, the runner is shocked to hear that the solution may well be stop doing that stretch every morning. As I explain in this episode, such injuries can include insertional achilles tendinopathy, proximal hamstring tendinopathy, insertional gluteal tendinopathy.

When, how much or indeed whether to stretch or not is a subject that causes much debate amongst runners and therapists, but if your passion for stretching is delaying your recovery then it's high time we clear a few misconceptions up!

As always, feel free to add comments if there is anything you agree/disagree with, or just want to share an experience. And if there is anything running injury/performance related you would like to hear us talk about in future episodes of Runchatlive then do let us know!

To HELP us reach more runners, we as always REALLY appreciate you sharing our content across social media, especially on Apple Podcasts/iTunes as that really helps! Thanks in advance and enjoy!
