After announcing the winner of our Oofos giveaway and discussing the latest news on the Boston Marathon, we were thrilled to talk with George Rehmet, the first Asian-American president of the Road Runners Club of America and the first and (hopefully only) president during a pandemic.  In addition to being a leader in the running world, George is a teacher for student with mental health issues, father, and accomplished runner and triathlete.   George is a San Francisco native who currently lives in Daly City, California. He began running in 1981 with his high school cross country team. To date, he has run over 1,500 races, which include over 150 marathons and ultras.  ⁣George shares how his role at the RRCA shifted after the murder of Ahmaud Arbery and what he and the RRCA are doing to make running a welcoming space for all.
