Grief is a much more common emotion than we might think. It is obvious that we feel grief when a loved one dies, or when an important relationship or job ends.

In reality, grief shows up any time we experience a loss. This could be for an opportunity, an ability, or even something as simple as a predictable daily routine.

For the large changes it is easy to recognize grief. For smaller changes it is much harder. We often dismiss the feelings of grief as agitation, tiredness, or just being off kilter.

As our daily lives have changed so radically with the COVID-19 pandemic, it's likely that we are feeling much more grief than we realize.

Last year I interviewed Lynne Staley, an expert on grief, on how to identify grief and I think that now would be a great time to revisit that podcast.

Use this week's simple tap-along audio and script to help you deal with the grief you are feeling right for your loss of normalcy.
