We all dream of having happy and healthy children, but sometimes life doesn’t always turn out as we had hoped and the path we thought we were headed down changes. Today I interview Emily Hepworth who is pregnant with her second son, a boy named Ethan who has Down Syndrome. I reached out to Emily because I knew that she would be honest in her feelings about finding out she was going to have a child with Down Syndrome and because I think this is a subject that will help a lot of people. Many may not find themselves with a Down Syndrome child, but we may find ourselves in situations that are different than what we planned. This is part of an at least 3 part series in interviewing Emily. I wanted to get her feelings during the big milestones of Ethan’s life. Today we talk about what it was like to find out Ethan has Down Syndrome and what her expectations, fears, and hopes for his future look like. Enjoy!
