Focus On What You Can Give - a podcast by Siri Lindley

Welcome to the Bed Head Chronicles.

Today, I want to talk about how in the world today, if we could change all of us the way we think about our communications with others, and always have our primary intention being 'What can I do FOR this person?' -- whoever it is that's standing in front of you, whether it's your husband, your wife, your son, your daughter, your friend, your client, someone you're meeting for the first time -- How can I add value to this person's life right now?

Whether that's something as simple as putting a smile on their face or adding value by whatever services you can provide them with. 

But, I think, oftentimes it's important to just be aware.  Do you go into every relationship in your life thinking 'What can I get FROM this person?' or 'What can I get out of this interaction?' rather than 'What can I GIVE to this person?  How can I impact this connection or this communication in a positive, generous, loving, kind way?

So, what about, if we all begin this coming week saying that in every moment, whoever we come across, our main focus -- our main intention will be 'What can I do for this person?'  What can I do at this moment that's going to add value -- that's going to have a positive impact?  How can I be a gift to this person, to this moment, to this experience?  How can I be a gift?  What can I do for these people?  How can I add value, joy, happiness, good feeling -- whatever it is in every moment?

Let me know in the comments what you find.  Try that for a day.  More importantly, if we can do this all week in every interaction, we can change the world by individually managing how we live our lives; how we treat others with love, kindness, gratitude, appreciation.

And from there, that will spread.
