Ep. 350: Has Vanity Sizing Gone Too Far? - a podcast by Danny-J Johnson & Jill Coleman

Everyone knows buying clothing as a woman is a goddamn zoo. What’s a small one one brand is a large in another, but a 7 in a third, and a 31 in another, and all of a sudden you have no idea what size you are in any brand and you just want to buy some damn pants. Clothing retailers are known to implement “vanity sizing,” aka, labelling clothes as smaller sizes to make the buyer feel better about themselves. Why the hell are we even letting clothing sizes determine our self worth anyways?! Yeah, we live in a society where people are unfairly judged by how much space they take up, and it sucks! So why are we perpetuating that bullshit to ourselves? Sizes should be meant to help us find clothes that fit us, let's take the judgement out of it.
