We are not lost, we're buried.
We are taught to become less of ourselves as we get older and move through life.
We're trying to survive. We're trying to fit in. We're trying to protect ourselves.
And I get it.
Rejection hurts.
It's just that at some point we look around and don't recognize anything, not even ourselves, and we're thrown into a panic.
"Who am I?"
"Why do I have this job? I don't even like this profession."
And where we are in our lives often determines how we talk to ourselves and what we believe.
"I had big dreams when I was younger, but I guess it's too late now."
"If I leave this job, everyone will think I'm irresponsible."
When all the while, we're suffocating under the masks and debris we willingly placed over ourselves throughout the years.
It's not too late to breathe or feel free.
Ask yourself,
What feels heavy in your life?
What feels unnatural?
What brings you sorrow everyday or every time you do it?
Do you even like this? Why are you doing it?
What have you told yourself year in and year out that you eventually started to believe?
What masks are you wearing day in and out of your life?
