Manual therapist Julian joins Mark to talk Bowen Technique, fascia, what massage actually is, why touch matters, anatomy and religion, what stretching does, core stability, foam roller, “release”, bouldering, and we he doesn’t bone in exercise. A iconoclastic one.

About Julian

A former chef from leaving school, Julian Baker has led the most bizarre of lives, ranging from cooking for the Royal Family to running jelly wresting events in the Australian outback and performing stand up comedy in pubs.  These days he has turned his attention to disrupting the field of anatomy, challenging the foundations of medicine and the way that undergraduates are taught about the body, believing that "Anatomy is incomplete at best and dangerously wrong at worst." On the other side of the coin, he has been involved in the field of complementary therapy for thirty years and has equal disdain for some of the ideas espoused by the therapy world.  "You can't release fascia, it's not a box of doves" being a favourite.  He believes that somewhere in the middle, between scientific/medical arrogance and the anti-vaccination movement, lies a beautiful truth that will heal the world.
