Whether intermittent fasting, short term fast, prolonged/extended fast or anywhere in between, it's important to preserve muscle and monitor to make sure that is happening. The episode discusses factors such as gluconeogenesis, sequence of what the body burns for energy, and ways to measure muscle pounds (e.g. BIA) or merely percents (body composition scale).
