ABOUT Bunmi

Snr Business Development Manager in Microsoft's Global Business Development organization - Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Cloud. Bunmi covers strategic engagements in emerging markets, building technology partnerships with commercial organizations leveraging Cloud, IoT, data analytics, AI, cognitive services and emerging technologies. She also works with the Airband Initiative driving affordable access solutions for connectivity, renewable energy and regulatory relations.

She advocates for “technology for good” and diverse digital inclusion, whilst sitting on the Women@microsoft UK Board as the spokesperson for underrepresented ethic groups. Through her own “Global Future Observer” programme, she aims to demystify the industry by encouraging the inclusion and participation of young people in events that shape their future.

A dynamic public speaker and thought leader Bunmi has addressed the UN, technology conferences and emerging market trade events about bias in AI, responsible technology in emerging markets, affordable internet access, digital inclusion, being a Women in Tech and Leadership. Bunmi was recently included in the Financial Times Top UK 100 list of Most Influential BAME Leaders in Tech. 

Previously Bunmi managed a UK/US Media Licensing team covering EMEA. Her team licensed media content from industry giants such as AP, Reuters, Sony and Getty on behalf of Microsoft’s business groups and services.

 She has a BSC in Law and Psychology, an MSc in the Management of Intellectual Property and is a qualified lawyer specializing in Intellectual Property protection and litigation. Prior to Microsoft, she worked at the BBC as a Contracts Executive managing TV performance rights.

Bunmi lives in London with her husband and four children.
