Episode - 23 - Pulling Wisdom - a podcast by Dr. Len Tau

On this week's episode of The Raving Patients Podcast, Len sits down with Cathy Hung to discuss her upcoming book, "Pulling Wisdom" about cross-cultural communications for healthcare professionals.

 

Dr. Hung is a native of Taipei, Taiwan. She briefly lived in Singapore for two years before coming to the U.S. on a student visa in 1991. She earned a B.A in Psychology from U.C. Berkeley and DDS from Columbia University. She is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who owns a solo practice in central New Jersey. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese which is her first language. She is part of American Dental Association's Institute for Diversity in Leadership program, class 2019-2020. She is currently a guest writer for ADA's New Dentist Now Blog and Dental Practice Success column. Pulling Wisdom is her first book in honor of her late father, talking about her experience as a first-generation immigrant doctor who learned about other cultures and shared her journey. Pulling wisdom is expected to publish in summer 2020. She is also working on her second book "Behind the Scalpel: practical guide and stories by women oral and maxillofacial surgeons". Her goal is to increase number of women surgeons within the specialty of OMFS.
