In this episode the host, Kayla Nielsen, interviews Taryn Arnold on her experience of being a Christian and then coming out as gay in her adult life.

Taryn shares her story of how she found Christianity, and how her faith shaped her community and experience of the world from high school through young adulthood.

She explains that once she started college, and was still heavily involved in Christian groups, activities, and missions- she also began to realize she had feelings for another young woman within her friend group.

Taryn describes the hardships of falling in love with someone when your faith is telling you this love is “wrong” or “sinful.”

She describes how this impacted her relationship with Christianity and God, and how she currently identifies.

Taryn also explains how she struggles to identify with a certain word of phrase within the LGBTQ community as well.

Taryn and Kayla relate to one another, and share stories of continual coming out moments, and what it feels like floating between two worlds.

This is a heartfelt and conversational episode that’s incredibly valuable for all sorts of listeners.
