Maria is a florist, a yoga teacher, and a trader in finance.
She shares about how her and Kayla met on GLOW Yoga Retreats in Bali several years back, and how that experience changed the trajectory of her life.
She shares about being in a relationship with an addict, and how she found yoga as a tool of empowerment to get out and move forward even when it was scary and hard.
Maria talks about how her love for yoga inspired her to want to start her own yoga studio in Seattle, as she felt the city was lacking a well-rounded representation of the practice beyond the asana.
She goes into the details of what it means to start a business from the ground up without having the funds to back it, getting a loan, taking a chance, working full time, and learning everything on a whim.
From there she explains how it all came crashing down in conjunction with C*vid, and how she was able to rebuild from there.
Kayla and Maria talk about friendship, silver linings, and owning who you are in an authentic and empowered way.
Maria goes on to describe how she fell into floristry (she’s doing Kayla’s wedding), and how she’s fully embracing the dualities in her life both professionally and beyond.
