Name of Expert:

Darla Andrews

Why I Believe This Person Is A Warrior:

I met this amazing woman years ago when we worked at a gym together. From the moment I met her I admired her. She was one of the more popular trainers at the gym, had a beautiful marriage and work relationship with her husband, and very successful/talented girls. She is a mom, trainer, runs her own business and helps her husband’s business, and still sets amazing fitness goals like running a marathon and becoming a figure competitor. She’s one of those people that I would ask the infamous question “how do you do it?” In this interview, she shares how she does it and how she helps others to do it too.

Who They Are & Something Only The People Closest To Them Know:

  • Mom of 5 and now 51

  • Personal Trainer

  • Own a wellness center with husband called Total Body Health Center

  • She plays piano

Their Battle, Mentally Or Physically, They Fought And Came Out A Warrior:

As a kid she was always insecure and around 15 her parents got divorced and her mom abandoned her family. She dealt with major rejection at that time and it took her a long time to overcome her anger, resentment, and more. She felt that helped her grow mentally, but it took several years for her to fight through this battle.

Warrior They Look Up To:

She had a friend who battled cancer and had the most amazing attitude towards life. She helped her realize how important it is to live life and let the little things go.

Heart Of The Interview:

Darla is someone I consider a ‘mom warrior’ and someone who never lets age stop her. She is a mother to 5 beautiful/amazing girls. Also, she is at the peak of her fitness at 51! She started running when she was 43. She never thought she would discover the running bug but she did!!

She understands what’s it like to get back in shape after years of being pregnant and discovered her love of fitness through that. One of her biggest tips to getting her workouts in while raising kids is working out first thing in the morning. Even if it was dark outside she got up and got her training in. She believes that you need to be creative to get your workouts in. She shares other amazing tips for getting your workouts into your crazy schedules.

Also, she ended up placing first in her first figure competition at 49! She was able to stick to a rigid diet while taking care of her family. It was really out of her comfort zone, but she kicked ass at it!! She shares her best tips on how she was able to achieve her goal while everything else was going on.

What Being A Warrior Means To Them:

It means getting up and facing each day head-on, and if you get knocked down get back up. Lastly, you have to believe in you.

Their Greatest Life Lesson Learned:

Don’t take anything for granted and don’t waste time and energy on things you can’t control.
