Haney, Assistant to the President for Missions, Human Care, and Stewardship, has been an ordained pastor for 27 years, serving multi-ethnic urban congregations in Berea and Detroit, MI. He has been a director of Outreach and Evangelism in St. Louis for four congregations., was Senior Pastor at Gospel Lutheran in Milwaukee and was the Mission Facilitator for the Northern Illinois District until September of 2019. In January 2016, he started to write a blog to encourage believers and non-believers to explore difficult faith issues. He is married to Miriam (Bickel) Haney, and they have six children, Mitchell (27), Todd (26), Sharon (24), Jonathan (20), SaraGrace (15) and Zane (9). They have two grandchildren Matheo (3) and Nalah Rose.
