Makeda is the founder and managing consultant of the Caribbean Mindfulness Institute (CMI). Founded in 2017 and based in Trinidad & Tobago, the CMI provides organisational training, public workshops, retreats, and keynotes to help people beat stress and feel their best using mindfulness and meditation. The CMI is dedicated to advancing mindfulness as a safe, effective, evidence-based means of reducing the impact of chronic stress and burnout in our regions’ workplaces, schools, and communities. In her engaging and interactive keynotes, workshops, and presentations, participants learn about mindful living, stress reduction, mindfulness meditation, emotional intelligence, and how to cultivate more resilience and fulfillment – at school, at work, and in life.
