As a solo polyamorous, queer pansexual, and owner of Marjani Lane, Ebony Hagans is big on sexual agency, autonomy over our love styles, and wants us to experience our freedom and be comfortable while doing it. Through her work with Marjani Lane, she’s focused on the education of ethical non-monogamy& alternative love styles while emphasizing Black representation.
I’m HYPE about this conversation with Ebony as I’ve been deep into my own exploration of different love styles and relationship structures. While a lot of us shun the idea of anything different than monogamy, this discussion is about expanding our minds to what’s possible within the way we relate to each other. This isn’t a campaign for you to quit monogamy, but it’s an invitation to uplevel how each of us shows up in our relationships moving forward. We also talk about:
Her relationship with loveThe role of control and codependency in today’s relationships
The intersection of race, religion, and sexuality in love stylesUnlearning lessons about ourselves and our relationships
Remembering that our self-value belongs to usThe different forms of non-monogamy
The 1 question to ask yourself if you’re thinking about being non-monogamous
Moving through jealousy
