In this episode, Kayla chops it up with Cristina Curp!

Cristina Curp is the creative mind behind The Castaway Kitchen, a blog dedicated to delicious foods and healing diets. In the last few years through self-experimentation and dedication Cristina has healed her body from leaky gut and lost over 60 pounds- putting her autoimmune disease in remission too.

Using her restaurant chef skills and love for food she now creates recipes to help others find health and happiness through keto, paleo and AIP lifestyles! Her mission is to spread the word that food is thy medicine and it should taste damn good. As a military spouse and mom on the move, staying healthy is a must.

From Hawaii to Washington DC, you can find her in the kitchen, on a hike with her dog, Bruce or sipping bulletproof coffee.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Her battle with hidradenitis suppurativa, a rare autoimmune disease that creates a painful skin condition and how that affected her self-confidence and relationships growing up.
  • Finding the autoimmune protocol and the paleo diet to help heal herself, and how eventually she transitioned fully to the ketogenic diet as a path to healing.
  • How to adjust your macros based on what your body needs and listening to your body.
  • The importance of self-care for healing that goes beyond nutrition, as well as how social media impacts your self-care.
