“I sought it out wherever I went.”

Emillie shares a recipe for a dish that she ate copious amounts of whilst backpacking in Peru. Ceviche (coupled with plenty of Pisco sours) fuelled her expeditions around the Inca trails and now seven years later, she is sharing her recipe with me.

As we sit in her south east London flat that she shares with her fiancé Mark, aside from ceviche, we discuss the gentrification of SE London, whether or not it’s acceptable to eat a ball of burrata like an apple and local restaurant gems that they like to visit around the area (Emillie & Mark are the quintessential epicurean couple).

FYI: the drinks I brought off the recommendation of Clapton Craft were a Grüner Veltliner and a Sake. The Peruvian restaurant which Emillie mentions is Astrid y Gaston, the Italian restaurant in Camberwell that I mention is in fact, “Caravaggio’s” and the Sake which I failed miserably to pronounce is, “Festival of Stars” (Tobiroku) available at Clapton Craft.
